Our Story

It started with a random thought and a conversation.

During the summer of 2022 the thought came across my mind of, "You need to learn how to make soap in case the world falls apart." Strange. I'm always learning new things but that one got me.

The next day I remembered a passing comment that my best friend had said about her son and soaps, detergents, cleaning products, etc. I sent her a text asking "What do you wish manufacturers knew about finding products for your son?" She told me all about his skin issues and their triggers.

Then my adventure in soaping began.

I learned that the ingredients "K" is allergic to are found in just about every product out there and some of them even hidden.

With that, I keep "K" in mind when formulating my recipes. These are the first decisions I make when choosing ingredients:

  • Avoid Coconut Oil and anything that comes from coconuts (i.e. Activated Charcoal).
  • Avoid Shea and Cocoa butter.
  • Avoid soy.
  • Keep it moisturizing and not exacerbate existing skin conditions.

So what DO we use?

Believe it are not there is actually a pretty good list of things to choose from! Things like:

  • Avocado Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Mango Butter
  • Kokum Butter
  • Lard and Tallow
  • Palm and Palm Kernel Oils (responsibly sourced of course)
  • Clays
  • Oatmeal
  • Aloe Vera Liquid
  • Soap Nuts
  • Pumice
  • Goat's Milk
  • And many more!

Since everyone's needs will be different please see the ingredient list on every product to make sure there isn't anything that would be aggravating to your skin. If you don't see something that you can use PLEASE send me an email! I would love to talk about your specific needs and explore the possibility of formulating a new bar if I don't already have something that fits the bill.

Your skin care routine shouldn't be difficult or impossible just because you have allergies to the most commonly used ingredients. Try out these soaps and see a difference!
